Figured avoiding the crowds would compensate for not getting the bragging rights for Segwaying on the new Bay Bridge the first day it was open, so i waited two days.
The bike/pedestrian path does not go all the way to Yerba Buena Island yet since the tail end of it can’t be built until the old bridge has been removed, which’ll take a couple of years. But still, the end of the pathway is pretty close, and it’s a great joy to ride along it radiating good vibes with the others out doing the same.

And then he took this one of me:
Perhaps the high moment of the adventure occurred when i was on the downward path and suddenly another Segwayer was on the way up. Thinking more rapidly than i, he extended his left hand as he approached me. Thinking more rapidly than i knew i was still able, i extended mine in time to meet his as we passed. Bonding. Is it ever sweet.
Made all the sweeter by the bicyclists following him who greeted me with shouts of approval over our display of Segway solidarity.
