I’d never have believed it, but i’m now up and running on my very own domain. What a joy. A few rough edges remain, but it’s working.
And to give credit where it’s due, the role of interface between me and WordPress was played by my friend Geo, who’d be happy to do the same for you. Actually, he’d probably be even happier to design a complete website for you, but he was extraordinarily patient with my quibbling over tiny point size changes and my insisting on functionality that did not come entirely natural to WordPress.
