If The San Francisco Chronicle would just print all the letters I send them, they’d save me the trouble of including the unprinted ones here. Like this one:

In his article in today’s The San Francisco Chronicle, His Grace Archbishop George H. Niederauer of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco piously deplores “The Moral Scandal of Global Poverty” and the pitiful contribution of the United States toward stopping the spread of AIDS.

His Grace neglects to mention His Holiness’ preference that millions of third-world poor die of AIDS rather than use condoms.

Oh, please teach us about moral scandals, Your Excellency.

Friends

Folks ask me how come I don’t take pics of my friends. Actually, I sometimes do, but the pics hardly ever turn out. To get right down to it, almost the only pics I take that I like are of things, and most of the time, parts of things. Like this shot of my friend Sue’s house over on 22nd Street:
